Podcasting for Profit with Lab Rats TV

Sean Carruthers and Andy Walker host a video podcast called Lab Rats TV. Episode 93 includes an interview with yours truly. It was recorded at the New Media Expo in September.

I asked the Lab Rats guys if they could pull the 10-minute clip of me and here it is. It’s a fun interview and I just adore them both. You can’t see Sean as he’s behind the camera, but Andy is the one who is interviewing me.

I met Andy at Podcamp Toronto back in February and he’s a featured case study in Podcasting for Profit. I was so relaxed with Andy, I gave him a kiss during our interview. To find out where, click on the play button below to launch the video and watch it for yourself.

How to Treat Those Who Have Yet to Spend Money With You

I’m not staying at any of the hotels that are across the street from the convention centre, where the Expo is held. Instead, I’m staying at the Ramada, which is a five-minute walk away. I stayed here last year and just love how quiet it is.

Last night, I attended Jason Van Orden’s pool party. By the time I got there, the burgers had run out. So, I went over to Tim Street’s party, complete with French Maids. Tim didn’t have any food by the time I got to his party either. So, I ended up having dinner with Susan Bratton, David Lawrence and Jody Colvard, among a few others.

It was late by the time we finished up. I wasn’t going to walk back to the Ramada so I asked the Marriott concierge to call me a cab.

I’m in Los Angeles (Well, Ontario)

The first person I ran into was Doug Smith of Podango. Then Dan York of Disruptive Conversations. Then Terry Fallis. Then I saw my book for the first time and I almost broke down in tears. After giving the manuscript a once over in late August, it went to the printers and I haven’t seen it since. Holding it in my hands for the first time was surreal. Just unbelievable.

The people who are selling the books gave me a weird look. Until I told them that I was holding my own book for the very first time and they understood.

“Sell them all,” said the woman stocking the books.

Now, I’m sitting here listening to Tim Bourquin do an interview style keynote with Wallstrip creator, Howard Lindzon. I’m not totally engaged, partly because I’m live blogging, partly because I’ve heard Lindsay, the host of Wallstrip, being referred to as a “girl”, partly because I heard the word porn used a few times and of course, I heard one or two expletives.
